27th Annual (2009) Eerie Erie

Training season for the 27th Annual Eerie Erie 5k/10k and Goblin Run is upon us. This year the race will occur on Halloween Day (October 31) at 9:30am. This race has gathered a strong following and we are expecting a great turnout this year. The Eerie Erie has a long standing tradition of beginning and ending in the great old town Erie area. Those who venture in the 10k (map) race will get the spooks when running past the Erie Cemetery, but will also enjoy the grand scenery and mountain views during their journey. The 5k (map) runners will enjoy the run through beautiful old town Erie, and revisit the bridge over coal creek which marks the turnaround point of the run. For the young ones that are too little for these runs, we will once again have the famous Goblin Run (1/4 mile event).
The Eerie Erie is a great tradition, and this is the Optimist Club of Erie's key fund raising event. So put on that running costume, contribute to a great cause, improve your health, and have lots of fun.
Photos from the event will be available from RunningGuru, this year's official photographer.
We look forward to seeing you there!
